Coming from New York City, I visit almost daily to get inspiration. Whether I’m looking for inspiration for an outfit, decorating my home, or for an event I want to plan in the near future.
Something else about me… I read A LOT of magazines. As a matter of fact, my personal home library has more magazines than books. At any one give time I have at least 7 magazine subscriptions. Even though I read the articles inside to lift my spirits, I have the magazines more as inspiration to add to my event design portfolio.
My clients expect me to be on the latest developments to event planning and design, so I look to inspiration from everything.
My favorite magazines include Food & Wine, O, Women’s Day, Better Homes & Gardens, Inc., and Money. The latter two helps me keep an eye on economic trends and look for ways to help my clients save money.
This is the first step in a series of blog posts about developing party plans. Party plans help you organize your thoughts and ideas and translate that at your event. The example event I’m going to use in this 5-step series is an at-home Halloween Party. This series of blogs will discuss the following steps:
Step 1: Get inspired!
Step 2: Invite!
Step 3: Decide on party favors!
Step 4: Arrange flowers!
Step 5: Entertain!
Each step will have an introduction blog, then a post with photos to inspire, and finally a recipe. Look out for updates to this post and future posts!
